Santa Teresa High School Evacuation Concluded

Dear Santa Teresa High School Families,

The evacuation, which was initiated at Santa Teresa High School, at 10:50 AM on August 14, 2026 due to a fire alarm following a power outage, concluded at 11:12 AM. All students and staff remained safe and accounted for throughout, and the fire department cleared the building for return. Students have returned to their classrooms and the school day will continue as scheduled.

Estimadas familias de Santa Teresa High School:

La evacuación en Santa Teresa High School, que comenzó a las 10:50 AM del 14 de agosto de 2026 debido a una alarma de incendio tras una interrupción de energía, concluyó a las 11:12 AM. Todos los estudiantes y el personal permanecieron a salvo y ubicados durante toda la situación, y los bomberos autorizaron el regreso al edificio. Los estudiantes regresaron a sus salones y las clases continuarán con normalidad.

As GISD transitions away from Remind, ParentSquare will become our new districtwide communication platform for school and district messages. At the same time, we are transitioning from PowerSchool to Synergy, which will provide families and students access to ParentVUE and StudentVUE.

To support our families during this transition, we have created a Family Information Hub that includes videos, step-by-step instructions, frequently asked questions, and additional resources.

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with these resources. We ask all employees to help direct parents and guardians to the Family Information Hub whenever questions arise.

Key reminders:

• ParentSquare will become GISD’s primary communication platform.

• Parent and guardian accounts will be created automatically using information maintained in Synergy.

• ParentVUE and StudentVUE will provide access to grades, attendance, schedules, and other important student information.

• Additional training and support opportunities will continue to be offered throughout the summer.

Our collective support will help ensure a smooth transition for students, families, and staff members.

Mientras Gadsden ISD se prepara para el año escolar 2026–2027, nos complace lanzar oficialmente los recursos que apoyarán dos importantes transiciones del distrito.

Mientras GISD deja de utilizar Remind, ParentSquare se convertirá en nuestra nueva plataforma distrital de comunicación escolar y comunitaria. Al mismo tiempo, estamos realizando la transición de PowerSchool a Synergy, el cual proporcionará a las familias y estudiantes acceso a ParentVUE y StudentVUE.
