STHS Spanish Poetry

Let us celebrate the beauty and creativity of Spanish poetry crafted by our talented students! We were invited to a Poetry Anthology Event organized by the Sunridge Middle School LOTE Team where some of our students got the opportunity to showcase their poetic talents. Our students took us on a captivating journey through heartfelt verses, vivid imagery, and the rhythmic flow of the Spanish language.

We had the opportunity to experience the magic of spoken word as our students recited their original poems. From passionate love sonnets to introspective free verse, each reading was a unique expression of personal experiences and emotions.

Enhancing the poetic experience, we showcased accompanying visual art pieces inspired by the poems and Mexican painter Mena Bo. Our students explored how words and images intertwine to create a deeper narrative and evoke profound feelings.

The anthology features a diverse collection of poems encompassing various themes such as love, nature, and identity. Through the power of language and imagination, our students were able to transport readers into worlds filled with passion, wonder, and introspection.

From traditional forms like haikus and villanelles to experimental prose poetry, the anthology showcases the versatility of Spanish as a medium for artistic expression. Each poem is a testament to the creativity and talent of our students, offering readers a glimpse into their unique perspectives and voices.

We would like to congratulate seven of our STHS students for their participation in the 2024 Poetry from the Border Event, two of which received second place.
